It’s never just one night.

It’s never just one night.

This is another nod to the “Books Never Written” section in the Boy’s Life magazines I used to read as a kid. They always made me laugh…

You’ll figure it out. The glass is always greener.

I’ll keep the superhero theme going with this cartoon from last year. By the way, this news anchor seems entirely too calm. You’d think he’d revel in the exposure this story could bring…

Anyone see the movie? Does it involve billiards?

I was going to gloat about only having a 5 minute commute, but my heart’s not in it.

I did not watch the Grammys last night, just listened a bit as the wife and daughter did. It’s a yearly reminder of how little interest I have in popular music today. Awards shows bring out the worst in me, anyway…

This is my first official rejection from The New Yorker. I submitted this cartoon way back in October of last year. So it appears their review time can take up to four months–wow!
I’ve submitted a couple others already and I’m trying to complete a batch of ten to send off at the same time. I think I’m better understanding the style and sense of humor they are looking for. We’ll see.
Anyway, this cartoon idea is a bit out of date…since we have pretty much moved into a new political season. But I still like it.

I was thinking yesterday about Alan Rickman’s death, trying to come up with a cartoon that would have Snape battling John McClane from Die Hard. That was too much work. I did this instead.

Based on Silento’s transcendent bit of musical mastery, “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)”. (Confession: I had never actually heard the song–just little people quoting bits of the lyrics. To research this cartoon I listened to it in its entirety. I can never get those 3 minutes and 23 seconds back again.)
