Wrote this little verse and the drawing came out. This style is more indicative of how I doodle and paint, not cartoon. If you’re interested, I did another blog for a time, Pablo’s Doodles, that has a lot of drawings and prose in this style. It has not been updated in a couple of years but I am still fond of a lot of its content. Maybe I’ll add an occasional “whiteouts” with this vibe.
I’m flying to New Jersey later today for the week. I’ll be on the lookout for rotund royalty…
This is just a weird cartoon–but I do like the way the bearded fisherman turned out.

I like the idea of this but my execution wasn’t the best–probably because I drew and inked it while lying in bed. Still…a liquidy lunar lunch.
I recently saw a “Practice Aloha” sticker on a truck. When you buy this memento in the airport while leaving the islands, you’re intentions are pure. You think, “Yes, by golly, I’m gonna go home and practice me some aloha.” Even when you peel it off and carefully place it just so on the back window of your rig, you still believe it can be done. Then, you get cut off in traffic and instead of throwing the “hang loose” sign, you display an entirely different gesture.
Vittles vindicated.
