Saturday night creation

Here are a couple of old paintings I created back when I used to make time for such things. Kinda miss it, kinda don’t.

I never tire of wordplay. At night, I will often happily turn off the light, close my eyes, and just play with words and phrases in my mind until I fall asleep. When I find something that tickles me it turns into a cartoon, like the one above.

One last Labor Day cartoon. I start a new job tomorrow–will try to keep this in mind.
Quote is from Wilkie Au, S.J.

First drawing in Procreate with new Apple Pencil. Gonna like this.

My kind of non-violent resistance.
Today is my 44th birthday and I’m still learning how to be at peace with not being “productive”. Like a lot of people in this country I bear a sort of unconscious, Calvinist guilt that often keeps me moving even when I don’t need to be. Here’s to doing more of “nothing” in the year to come…cheers!
