One summer my mom made me and my younger brother participate in a community theater production. I was…11? I recall being extremely reluctant, certain that I would not enjoy the experience.
But I did! There were songs to learn, choreography to master, lines to memorize. Truthfully, I was a bit of a ham and though inwardly shy I liked being the center of attention.
What was the production? I’m not positive but I think it was Oklahoma! I have no idea what my role was. But I remain thankful that mom mandated the experience.

This could be my son’s prayer for sure. Still, as The Who sang, the kids are alright.

Every summer growing up I felt this way. There is no adult equivalent. One week just bleeds into the next… 😂

It’s a brave new world…
