Everyone talks about how wonderful it is to be unplugged, but I’ll bet if Andy Griffith had an iphone available he would have loved it. Well, certainly Barney would have. Andy was a bit of a luddite.

Modern technology/communication has both spoiled us and foiled us. The use of emoticons reminds me a little bit of the local restaurant Chotchkie’s use of “flair” in the movie Office Space. 🙂

Smart phones are the 21st-century adult security blanket. We’ve appropriately moved on from literal blankets only to become dependent on electronic ones. Should this trouble us? No judgment here, just observation.
