I kinda liked this one and thought it might have a chance. The New Yorker disagreed. How shellfish of them.

Here’s another New Yorker rejection no longer in the dark. They must not be getting as many submissions these days. I received a steady stream of “no’s” to my latest batch of cartoons in only a month’s time. 🙂

The sports apparel business is going to the dogs.
This is another cartoon The New Yorker didn’t want to sniff.

This is one of my favorite cartoons. To me, the idea and the drawing work perfectly. I wasn’t sure sure this one really fit as a New Yorker cartoon but I submitted it anyway. It was politely returned. But I still like it!

Here’s another one from the New Yorker remainder bin. Dads cannot hear nor answer questions when they are clining.

This is the one I thought had slipped by the gate keepers and maybe had a chance at publication with The New Yorker. Turns out I just missed the “decline” email in my inbox. Oh well, I’m still really happy with the idea and the drawing here.

Here’s another June submission to The New Yorker from which they quickly divorced themselves.

I think this one was also submitted in June. Not the best. But you just get an idea, draw it out and see what happens. Rinse and repeat. I haven’t submitted new cartoons in several weeks…need to get on that.

Well…most of the time?
Here’s another one a certain magazine relegated to coach.
