I kinda liked this one and thought it might have a chance. The New Yorker disagreed. How shellfish of them.

Here’s another New Yorker rejection no longer in the dark. They must not be getting as many submissions these days. I received a steady stream of “no’s” to my latest batch of cartoons in only a month’s time. 🙂

It’s a couple days early for this cartoon but let’s all enjoy it anyway.

Daniel, son, this is going to hurt.

It’s only a matter of time before Disney brings us “Hamilton on Ice!”

It feels like he’s trying to pedal something…

In life platitudes are rarely helpful. In cartoons they can be amusing. I bet they were all dark chocolate…

…except when it is. T-shirt/bumper sticker messaging is fun to play with. I really like how the drawing turned out on this one.

This is one of my favorite cartoons. To me, the idea and the drawing work perfectly. I wasn’t sure sure this one really fit as a New Yorker cartoon but I submitted it anyway. It was politely returned. But I still like it!

It’s always interesting to me to play around with different drawing styles. Wordplay and puns don’t seem to change, however…
