  1. Yes, they realize. And why do they do it? Because conflict drives clicks, and the more people share it the more popular the person becomes. Popularity is not likeability, it recognizability.

    1. I think this may be true for some, japhethwg, but I’m guessing that a certain percentage post this stuff because they are “true believers,” and don’t realize the effect.
